Out of my Mind, a novel by Sharon M Draper is a beautiful one. It is a candid story about an eleven year old girl Melody who has all these amazing thoughts in her head- enough of them to build an entire world with them. But, there is one not-exactly-small problem: Melody she cannot speak nor can she walk. She has cerebral palsy that controls her life and stops her from doing what a human being usually would take for granted . As a “typical” kid, she wishes she could interact with others normally without being judged for who she is. With the help of Mrs V (her tutor), Catherine (her aide), her mother and father, she eventually proves to everyone around her not to " judge a book by its cover”, showing everyone including her history teacher that she is infact, more than what they think she is.
This is a book that I loved very much from the very start and it had me turning all the way to the end. Hush, Hush is a cross between fantasy, romance and contemporary. Though many brand this book as a romance novel, it strikes me more as contemporary and fantasy. Buuutttt it doesn't necessarily mean that I got enough of Patch.... :p (btw, my heart still belongs to Jace)
Hello everybody! Everybody hates it when you're unable to concentrate on a perfectly good book, especially when it's because of OTHER PEOPLE. So, I decided to write a post telling you all what annoys me most when I read.
You know.... for future reference.
Hey guys! Today I decided to do a Harry Potter Quiz because I needed a short break from reading :) (I mean who doesn't?)
This quiz was done in collaboration with my friend Alice aka. Alice in Bookland. Her website is aliceinbookland.weebly.com so if you would like to see part two of the quiz go to her website for another one on Hunger Games!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was one of the most realistic books I've ever read in a long time. It reminded me of Rapunzel because she couldn't go outside, like Maddy, the main character of the book and I used to feel sorry for Rapunzel for that. Except now I don't. Because unlike Rapunzel, Maddy couldn't even breathe the crisp outdoor air AND not only that, she was betrayed by her own mother.
